&lt;p&gt;Academics at Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) at the University of Warwick were one of 13 partners on the European research project entitled Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility - Employment Realisation through Acquisition of Skills (CCAM-ERAS), examining how automation will transform the transport workforce and identifying the actions needed to support a fair, resilient and future-ready transition to automated mobility.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>WMG leads major AI project to boost healthcare intelligence</title>

      <description>&lt;div class="news-thumbnail" style="float: left; margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 5px;"&gt;&lt;img class="thumbnail" width="100" height="100" src="https://warwick.ac.uk/sitebuilder2/file/fac/sci/wmg/news-and-events/news/wmgnews?sbrPage=%2Ffac%2Fsci%2Fwmg%2Fnews-and-events%2Fnews%2Fwmgnews&amp;newsItem=8ac672c5a0a4cf6001a0aae659c96f42" alt="image"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p&gt;Academics at Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) at the University of Warwick are working on a pioneering project that uses AI&#8209;driven community&#8209;level healthcare intelligence to support preventative healthcare prioritisation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Project SNOW is supported by Google.org through the global &lt;a href="https://www.google.org/impact-challenges/ai-government-innovation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Google.org Impact Challenge: AI for Government, &lt;/a&gt;and was one of just 15 selected for funding from over 2,600 applications worldwide.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The project will help address one of the NHS's longest-standing challenges that people who need healthcare most are often the least likely to receive it. The intelligence will allow healthcare providers to decide where to intervene and who to prioritise, and to evaluate efficacy.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The pattern - known as the &lt;a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverse_care_law" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Inverse Care Law&lt;/a&gt; - has persisted for half a century. In England, one in four deaths is linked to public healthcare not reaching people in time, with more than 300 lives lost every day to conditions that earlier identification could have prevented. In the most deprived communities, life expectancy is up to 9.5 years lower than in the wealthiest.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

&lt;p&gt;&lt;i&gt;Scientists Making a Difference &lt;/i&gt;by broadcaster and multi-award-winning engineer &lt;a href="https://www.drshinisomara.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Dr Shini Somara&lt;/a&gt; celebrates the many and varied careers shaping the future of science &amp;mdash; and the incredible people behind them. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Ivana's story is one of 47 to be featured in the book, recognising the scientists and changemakers helping to make our world a better place. &lt;/p&gt;
