Congratulations to Elena Talavera Escribano (supervised by Dr Daniel Dauber and Dr Katharina Addington-Lefringhausen) who had her PhD viva on 4 November and passed with minor corrections. Her examiners were Professor Shlomo Tarba (University of Birmingham) and Professor Perry Hinton, and Elena’s thesis was entitled “Quantifying Scattered Images: A Novel Measurement Tool to Assess Their Impact on Employee Well-Being and Corporate Identity”.

This year, WICAL will be held online (28th - 30th June 2021) and we look forward to welcoming even more scholars, presenters, and attendants from across the world. Our theme is ‘Crossing Boundaries’, so we welcome interdisciplinary topics in the area of Applied Linguistics.

Complete University Guide 2019 ranks Linguistics at Warwick as 8th in the UK

Linguistics has moved up the rankings to 8th in the UK according to The Complete University Guide 2019 rankings. The University of Warwick is ranked 9th this year, maintaining its record of having never finished outside of the UK’s top ten universities in this table.
