Youth Climate Assembly 2nd February 11:30-14:00 Helen Martin Studio (WAC)

Over the course of 2022, a team of Warwick researchers, external artists, and young people from schools in Coventry have been working collaboratively and creatively in response to the global climate crisis and the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This event is in partnership with Sarah Shalgosky (Curator of the Mead Gallery, WAC) and WAC’s Creative Learning team.

We will showcase these three interrelated creative arts education Impact projects, exploring how they have used drama, dance, digital arts, creative writing, and performance poetry as ways of navigating the messy, complex, and often overwhelming topics of climate change and environmental degradation.

Stuck and Sticky in Mobile Academia - Special Issue Launch event with Dr Emily Henderson

This special issue launch panel presents an edited collection of papers on academic mobilities, entitled Stuck and Sticky in Mobile Academia. It has been published in Higher Education and co-edited by Charikleia Tzanakou (Oxford Brookes University) and Emily F. Henderson (University of Warwick). The core aim of this special issue was to explore the assumptions and norms underpinning the concepts of mobility and immobility and think beyond this binary, querying the conceptual certainties that are inherent to discourses around academic mobility itself. In this collection of papers, they have aimed to capture ways in which mobility and immobility intersect and overlap, where an academic may be both mobile and stuck, for instance.

The panel event is taking place on Friday 11 March 2022 12:00-14:00 and you can register to attend online.

WEBINAR: SUPPORTING THE WELL-BEING OF DADS OF DISABLED CHILDREN

Join our webinar where family researchers and dads of disabled children talk about the importance of father well-being and launch their online resource designed by dads for dads. Fathers of disabled children are rarely involved in research, which means that we know little about their experiences and the kinds of support that would be helpful. In response to this, a group of dads of disabled children from Coventry and surrounding areas worked with Emma Langley, a family researcher at the University of Warwick, to capture their experiences and create a resource aimed at supporting the well-being of other dads.

We warmly invite fathers of disabled children, family members, researchers, and professionals to a webinar where we will talk about the importance of supporting fathers of disabled children and showcase the free online video resource we have created.
Date: Wednesday 31st March 2021 Time: 6.00PM – 7.00 PM GMT Location: Online webinar (presenters only on view). Register your place at: https://dads.eventbrite.co.uk. A log-in link will be emailed to you in advance.
