40th Anniversary Funding Allocation

Overwhelming Enthusiasm for Anniversary Celebrations

Professor Susan Bassnett, and the rest of the 40th Anniversary Steering Committee would like to thank the University community for the enthusiasm with which it responded to the call for bids to the 40th Anniversary fund.

By the application deadline Claudie Combelas, the Anniversary Project Manager, had received an avalanche of 67 detailed and well thought out bids from every corner of the University.

With much coffee and discussion the Steering Group settled down to wade through the applications and were impressed by the quality and quantity of the suggestions. £70,312 has been allocated to the best applications.

Applications were judged against the criteria set out on the application form itself. Applicants were encouraged to fulfil as many as possible of the following criteria:

  • Celebrate Warwick's history
  • Publicise Warwick's achievements
  • Influence public perception of the University
  • Explain the future mission of the University
  • Make connections with research and innovation
  • Bring together different constituencies
  • Enhance morale within the University
  • Recognise people's contribution to Warwick
  • Stimulate fundraising efforts

Priority was given to events and activities specifically organised for the 40th Anniversary and evidence of independent funds was also taken into account.
