FAQs

1. What should I wear if I am taking part in the procession?

We recommend wearing layers and bring a waterproof coat in case of rain. Comfortable walking shoes are also a must!

 2. Will there be any refreshments provided?

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available in the Volunteer Hub.

3. What time should I arrive for my volunteer shift?

15 mins before.

 4. Will there be a photographer/videographer present?

Yes, we will be capturing images and footage of the event. If you do not wish to be included, please collect an arm band from the Volunteer Hub on the day.

5. What should I do if I have access requirements?

Please include your needs on the registration form and we will do our best to accommodate them. Please note, if taking part in the procession, the route is 1.16km and mostly flat.

6. Can my family join in?

We would love for families to join in the fun! Please bear in mind that while families are very welcome to make a lantern at homeLink opens in a new window and join the procession, the workshops on the day are specifically for students and we cannot accommodate children at them. We are also unable to provide childcare during this event – so if you would like to marshal the route you will not be able to have your child(ren) with you and they would need a responsible adult supervising them.

While we cannot guarantee roles please indicate which element of the procession would you most like to assist with: (required)
