The capacity of sites to the east of Gibbet Hill Road falls short of the University’s requirements and the Development Plan therefore includes proposals for continued development on the Warwickshire lands. The 1994 Development Plan included significant development on the Warwickshire lands primarily for residential accommodation, but also for post experience training, academic and communal facilities.
The 2007 Plan includes proposals for a mixture of all University activities on the Warwickshire lands, rather than development weighted towards residential use. Mixed-use development will create a more varied and lively visual and social environment and is an inherently more sustainable form of development.
