International Collaboration: Stitching in Time and Place
There is now an international dimension to this project. Thanks to Susan Ettenheim in New York and Max Musau in Nairobi, groups of students in these cities are sharing images and patterns that inspire then, and developing their own designs in textiles using TurtleStitch.
On Tuesday 1 June 2021 we hosted one of the very first events for Resonate Festival, at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum for the Month of Invention, coordinated by the Innovative Manufacturing and Future Materials GRP. Read more and watch our video about the day here.
With Coventry City of Culture starting in May, teachers are invited to sign up for an information and training session to learn more about running the Stitch In Time project with their year 5 or 6 class.
While schools have been partially closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, WMG has trialled online teacher training.
In 2019-20, WMG staff delivered pilot workshops in local schools while developing the Stitch In Time teaching and learning resources.
