This month’s Resonate Festival theme is COVENTRY IN THE WORLD – Coventry is here, there, everywhere… a city which is enriched by the diverse communities that have made their home here. At Warwick, we have staff and students from all over the world and our research reaches all around the globe too. This month we will bring the world to Coventry and take Coventry out to the world. Resonate is celebrating this global diversity and highlighting a series of festivals and events that share a wealth of research, engagement and inclusivity.
September in the Resonate Festival is all about Words and Voices.
Through events on 5 and 19 September, we’ll be exploring the power of words - spoken, written and sung. We’ll be taking up residency in the Assembly Festival Gardens in Coventry this September, with events curated by the Connecting Cultures GRP.
This research asks how the police can use City of Culture as a platform to engage the public, whilst also managing crime and protecting event attendees. The project explores the potential for police partnerships around arts and culture, and how this can support crime reduction and protecting vulnerable people.
Loneliness and solitude, palliative care during Covid-19 and the increasing autonomy and infiltration of artificial intelligence into daily life are just some of the topics featured in the second instalment of Coventry Creates.
These 12 collaborative projects will culminate in a digital exhibition in December 2021.
As part of the Warwick Institute of Engagement's Community Partnership fund, we have been working with the Coventry Society on their 'Coventry Grotesques' project. Read about their recent walking tour here and find out more about some of the hidden faces watching as you explore Coventry.
