The Coventry Cultural Strategy - Have Your Say!

The Coventry Cultural Strategy is now being refreshed to produce an action plan for 2022-2025 that builds on the transformational success of Coventry UK City of Culture 2021.

The University has been at the heart of the city’s cultural partnership for many years, leading on the development of the Coventry Cultural Strategy 2017-2027 which provided the momentum to win the award of UK City of Culture 2021, and supporting its delivery through partnership working, investment in communities and sharing our expertise in research and engagement.

Building on our amazing contributions to the success of Coventry UK City of Culture 2021, the University is fully committed to continuing support for the culture-led growth and prosperity of our city.

The call out to the city for collective action to support and contribute to the cultural goals for the next five years is now live. All residents and other interested parties are called on to engage in shaping and delivering the next stage of Coventry’s remarkable cultural journey.

By getting involved, you can help to shape the city’s cultural plans and ensure that the strategy reflects what you feel are the priorities. Please do engage.

Culture Change Coventry is the city’s Cultural Compact - a partnership of the cultural sector and key stakeholders working together to maximise social and economic benefits from the cultural ecosystem in the city. Culture Change Coventry is seeking your input into a refresh of the Cultural Strategy (2017-27).

Background:

Coventry’s ten-year strategy is based on five goals: Partnership, Lifelong Learning, Diversity, Health and Wellbeing and Economic Growth. Following previous engagement, a sixth goal has been added, Coventry’s Green Future.

A strategy refresh engagement document has been created based on progress to-date, the City of Culture Trust’s Legacy Plan, a sector consultation day held in September 2021 and the response from ‘Art for the People – the Citizens Assembly’ organised by Talking Birds.

Call to action:

We are seeking views from city partners (cultural, business and public sectors) and Coventry residents of all backgrounds.

It is only by sharing your voice that the refreshed strategy can truly reflect the city’s cultural goals for the next 5 years and contribute to priority outcomes going forward. By getting involved, you can help to shape the city’s cultural plans and ensure that the strategy reflects what you feel are the priorities.
