Transform your street with Window Wanderland
The City of Culture Trust is helping to transform Coventry and Warwickshire's streets into a Window Wanderland!
Turn your neighbourhood into a beautiful walking trail to enjoy during a daily exercise walk by decorating and lighting up your windows. We're taking part with campus set to become a Window Wanderland alongside our neighbours in Canley, Cannon Park and Westwood Heath from 27 February until 5 March.
How you can take part
Find out below if you live in one of the ten areas the Trust is supporting to take part over the next three weeks. The next step is the fun part... roll up your sleeves and turn your windows into artwork with lights and decorations, and be sure to tell us about it. Don't forget to register your window display on the official Window Wanderland map for your area.
Window Wanderland on campus: 27 February–5 March
We would love for campus, Cannon Park and Canley to lead the way as a shining example of colour and creativity for Window Wanderland across Coventry. It's a chance to make other students and visitors smile when they walk around the area. It's a chance to show the rest of the city how creative our students are too!
So we're offering students on campus a free kit of tissue paper and card to get your started and creative with your windows, you just need to register here to take part. (We have prizes for the best windows! If your display really wows us, you could win a shopping voucher.)
In collaboration with Warwick Arts Centre and community leaders in Canley, we're delivering a free craft pack to the homes of everyone who signs up on the Window Wanderland site in Canley, Westwood Heath or Cannon Park. This is thanks to some funding we received for three years of participatory community engagement in Canley.
Need some inspiration?
Have a look at this gallery or watch the video below... but remember, it's your window so you get to decide! You can improvise with whatever you have at home or you might like to shop online for some craft materials. Let your creativity flow!
