West Midlands Cycle Hire launching on campus soon

West Midlands Cycle Hire is coming to University of Warwick, linking our campus into a network of 1500 hire bikes and 170 docking stations across the region.

Roadworks on Westwood Heath Road (31 August – 7 December)

Between 31 August and 7 December, roadworks are planned to take place on Westwood Heath Road between the two junctions of Ten Shilling Drive and Roughknowles Road. Coventry City Council have indicated that there may be 2 way or 3 way temporary traffic lights at times during these works— delays are possible.

Walk Talk Walk launched at the University of Warwick Campus

In June this year, Coventry got its first Walk Talk Walk global organisation called Run Talk Run, which was founded by Jess Robson in London in December 2017. The idea was to make movement and wellbeing support less intimidating and more accessible in the communities. The walks take place every Thursday evening at 18:30, starting from the Warwick Sports and Wellness Hub. The routes are planned around the campus area and are usually 3 to 5k long, taking about an hour to complete

Resonate Festival announces 2Tone: Lives and Legacies Screenings – Women Pioneers - Coventry Cathedral, Saturday July 24

Women trailblazers of the 2Tone and ska post-punk music scene of the late 1970s are being celebrated in an evening of film screenings and lively discussion at Coventry Cathedral later this month. The free event is running as part of Resonate Festival, a year-long themed programme of public conversations, talks, exhibitions, film festivals, walking tours, debates and a family festival day organised by The University of Warwick, a principal partner in Coventry UK City of Culture 2021.

Creative business programme gives Leamington Spa’s Parade pedestrians pedal powered boost

The University of Warwick’s free Creative Futures Incubator based in Leamington Spa’s co-working space 1 Mill Street is already powering up new local businesses, but now is also powering pedestrians up the Parade in Leamington, with 2 e-trikes. These innovative pedicabs provide a creative, environmentally friendly way for residents to get around the town centre and access the shops.

The Anthony Nolan Stem Cell Register thanks our student volunteers for their efforts

Our students among other UK universities helped support the blood cancer charity in recruiting more than 1,000 students to sign up to the stem cell donor register from their ‘Marrow’ Society. Warwick Marrow raised £3,091 which contributed to the overall total of £26,293 for the charity. Find out more.

Did you know that the University is part of the Arden Farm Wildlife Network?

Our Wellesbourne campus has become a partner in the Arden Farm Wildlife Network Tree Sparrow Project. The project brings together like-minded farmers to share best practice on how to improve their farm for wildlife whilst maintaining a productive farm. See how funding secured by the network has enabled us to install tree sparrow boxes as well as a barn owl box and restore their habitat and nesting sites.

Warwick academics recognised in Queen’s Birthday Honours List

Three University of Warwick academics have been recognised in the 2021 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.


Warwick named as one of UK's top 10 and Europe's top 20 universities

The University of Warwick has been named as one of the UK’s top 10 and one of the Europe’s top 20 universities in two new league tables.

The new tables find that Warwick has risen in the 2022 QS World University Rankings to at 61st in the world – making Warwick one of Europe’s top 20 universities – and has been placed 10th in the UK by the Complete University Guide.
