Spring 2019 development work on campus

Development works are now underway on a new temporary car park at Cryfield Village and on improving pedestrian routes around campus. Read on for more information on this.

Cryfield Village temporary car park:

You will see surrounding fencing being positioned for work to start on the new temporary car park. The car park is expected to be completed and open for permit-holder and pay and display users over the University summer vacation. More information on this will be provided later in the year.

 New Spine Route:

The Spine Route will be a 300m country walk-style path making it an easy and enjoyable route to take between Central Campus and the new Sports and Wellness Hub. Work will start on this on 7 March and the new path will be ready during the summer term.

 Footpath changes and diversions:

The footpath from Gibbet Hill Road to Lakeside Village residences will be widened to make it a more accessible route and will connect to the Spine Route to provide pedestrian access from Gibbet Hill Road to the Sports and Wellness Hub. During these works there will be:

  • A short pedestrian diversion in place through the area between Radcliffe and WBS.
  • No through route for pedestrians from Leighfield Road, via Windmill Hill to Gibbet Hill Road.

Please follow the pedestrian diversions while this work is being carried out.
