Warwick Volunteers Awards Winners 2018

The annual Warwick Volunteers Awards took place at the Warwick Volunteers Celebration Event on Thursday 15th March, bringing together student volunteers, local community partners and councillors and the wider university community.

The Celebration Event is held to thank student volunteers and highlight the amazing contribution they make to the local community. This year, Dr Nor Aziz, from Canley Connections, and students Vicki Thurlby and Megan Day from Warwick Mind Aware have shared their experience with the guests.

5 individuals and a group of volunteers received a Warwick Volunteers Award at the event, in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the local community. Nominations were received from community partners, University staff and peer volunteers, demonstrating achievement in one or more of the following categories: leadership, innovation, dedication and impact.

This year, the award certificates were presented by Professor David Lamburn, Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor Education at the University of Warwick..

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees!

Hear from the nominators...

He has always been willing to listen to ideas and make suggestions that improved our way of working.

We have been able to engage with large numbers of university students and also achieve a large amount of work which would otherwise not have taken place

We would like to thank you and the team of students for all your work; you were all so professional, extremely well prepared and super punctual.

The success of these events is down to Jacob and his ability to action, inspire others and be a friendly face when people arrive.

She always goes beyond what is expected of her and is innovative with the sessions. She is always willing to give a hand for help even when at her busiest moments.

She has come up with great ideas for the sessions. Her ideas have been very successful as our volunteers loved these sessions.
