Due to the coronavirus the Buddy Club sessions are currently on hold, but we are looking at alternative ways of engaging with residents remotely.

Befriending

The main role of the volunteers is to socialise with the residents by providing friendly conversation and companionship. Volunteers can also help to deliver activities such as quizzes, games, cake decorating and arts and crafts.

Performing

The residents love performances and we try to get as many societies and other clubs involved with our project. If you are part of a club or society please don't hesitate to contact us - it's a great way not only to bring a smile to someone's face but to practice in front of a very eager audience!

Every week the Buddy Club emails volunteers a sign up sheet where they can reserve their space on the minibus!

You can also walk to Willowbrook from campus - walking directions!

Time Commitment
Block 3 text

Sessions run once a week for one hour and 15 minutes on a Wednesday afternoon during terms 1 and 2.

We recommend volunteers try to make a regular commitment so you can really get to know the residents - the more sessions you attend the more you'll get out of the club.
