Coventry Museums are the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum (also known as The Herbert), Coventry Transport Museum and the Lunt Roman Fort in Coventry. They are run by Culture Coventry, a registered charity, and admission is free.
Most volunteers who choose to support the Herbert volunteer front of house in the history or art galleries or with the Learning Team, while others volunteer as Welcome Hosts. A smaller number volunteer behind the scenes with curators, media archives etc. Occasionally throughout the year volunteers may go to The Lunt Roman Fort for one off events.
Opportunities to support temporary exhibitions are advertised in the newsletter.

Why get involved?
How to get involved
In general, volunteers should be able to commit to a minimum of 3 hours a week over a two to three month period. The Herbert is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and 12pm to 4pm on Sunday.
Commitment and volunteering times might change with the roles.
Volunteers should be reliable, punctual, and demonstrate a good level of spoken English as some roles will require volunteers to interact with visitors to the gallery.
Prospective volunteers will attend an info session and an interview with the Herbert's volunteer coordinator. All volunteers will be given training suitable to their roles, and will be supervised by members of staff.
