- Attention Message

The Pod aims to facilitate and create platforms for social activism and maximise opportunities for people to cultivate new opportunities, connect with like-minded people and stimulate positive societal change.

Volunteering Opportunities
- Block 1 text
Weekly communal work sessions are led by a Food Union representative to complete the carious tasks appropriate to the week/season. Volunteering jobs range from digging, weeding, building structures (like raised beds and sheds) to more technical horticulture.
The Food Union also needs people to help with publicity, volunteer coordination, the planning of work sessions and social events.
The Food Union has two communal garden sites:
Beake Avenue Allotments
Started in April 2016, the aim was to convert a disused allotments into a thriving community food growing site. The project is open to all but used primarily by local residents, especially those whose houses back on to the site. In just a short time they have not only made a big impression on the site but fostered a positive and welcoming atmosphere, based around mutual respect and a desire to build a strong neighbourhood community.
Cultivate CV5 – Sherbourne Valley Allotments
Launched in March 2017, Cultivate CV5, while open to all, has been crafted with a particular group in mind; that is, artists (people that have affinity with collective//pod objectives) activists people involved in Time Union and allotmenteers, (people with food growing skills). In doing so we hope to create a city-wide community garden with a focus on nurturing and exchanging and creativity, skills and assets.
