Foundry Wood is a managed access community woodland. Through volunteer work parties they have made the site accessible by creating paths and facilities for all to use. The woodland is open at various times for workshops, conservation activities and educational purposes.

Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteers can help at their regular work parties at Foundry Wood. This will involve activities like clearing brambles/nettles, planting trees and bulbs, loping branches, building pathways and other physical outdoor activities.

Foundry Wood is a green triangle of land between the railway lines and Princes Drive in Leamington with a single entrance and exit gate on Princes Drive.

Time Commitment

As much time as you can spare! Ideally, one volunteer morning.
Volunteer mornings are held on the first Sunday of every month, 10am - 1pm appox. No need to book - just drop in - even for an hour or so to help out.

Requirements

Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear, e.g. closed toed shoes or boots, waterproof jackets, warm clothes for winter, sun hats, sunscreen cream for summer.
Must be happy to work outdoors in woodland, uneven and occasionally muddy ground and in wet and cold weather in the winter and hot weather in the summer.
A "hands-on" attitude and a love of wildlife and nature.
