Kidz Camp

Volunteering Opportunities

Kidz Camp is led by student volunteers, who are responsible for organising and managing every aspect of the holiday, with support from Warwick Volunteers and school staff.

Planning and preparation
Before the holiday takes place, volunteers will work as a team to fundraise for the project, create a programme of fun and educational activities and organise school sessions in term 2.

During the holiday
Volunteers will run sessions and activities. Transport, accommodation and food is provided.

Location and Travel

Planning and preparation meetings will take place on campus, or at Charter Primary School in Coventry which is walking distance from campus.

The residential holiday will be held at the Dunfield House and transport will be provided.

How to get involved

Sign-up is closed for the 2019-20 academic year!

Time Commitment

Term 1 and 2
Volunteers must be able to commit approx 1-3 hours every fortnight in the first two terms. Volunteer meetings are likely to be held more frequently closer to the holiday.

Easter vacation
Volunteers must be available to attend the volunteer briefing on Saturday 14 March 2020 and the full residential holiday, 3 days and 2 nights, from Monday 16 – Wednesday 18 March 2020.

Requirements

Kidz Camp is a popular project and sometimes volunteer places are competitive. We are looking for committed and enthusiastic volunteers who regularly attend meetings and activities, contribute ideas and work well with others. Experience of working with children, although useful, is not necessary.

All volunteers will be required to:

  • Complete safeguarding training
  • Complete an Enhanced criminal background check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
  • In addition, if you have lived outside of the UK for more than 6 months in the past 5 years you need to obtain a criminal record check from the country you lived in. This is commonly referred to as a Certificate of Good Conduct’
