- Attention Message
Myton Hospices provide compassionate end of life care, focusing on enhancing life when cure is no longer an option and have hospices based in Coventry, Warwick and Rugby. Their work centres on enhancing life, empowering patients to achieve their goals and involving them in decisions about their current and future care. By focussing on their wellbeing and seeing them and not the illness they aim to help them re-engage with their lives and give them more quality time with their families and loved ones.

Time Commitment
- Block 2 text
Volunteering opportunities can be arranged around student’s availability. Students are encouraged to commit to regular slots if possible as this allows effective and efficient use of volunteer resources for example if volunteering for the In Patient Unit volunteer role. For one off events time commitment can range from three to five hours per event dependent on requirements.

Training and support
- Block 4 text
All volunteer roles are supported with an induction/briefing. Myton Hospices aims to ensure that all new volunteers feel welcome and valued.
For regular volunteering initial training will be provided, together with ongoing training, to ensure that volunteers can work effectively.
For one off events volunteers are briefed as to their role and any specific training is provided by a stff member.
Throughout the volunteer journey volunteers are supported by members of the organisation for example Inpatient Unit volunteers would be supported by the Inpatient Unit manager.
