Getting here

At the University of Warwick. Family Day this year is taking place at Warwick Arts Centre, Oculus, Sports Hub, various Warwick Retail outlets and outside the Warwick Arts Centre main entrance. It is advisable to start your day at the Welcome Desk at Warwick Arts Centre, where you can collect your map and find out more about each location (this will be signposted from the Bus Interchange and Cryfield car park). If you're looking for a specific activity please speak to one of our friendly staff in Family Day T-shirts who will be all around the festival. You can find a copy of the map and programme here and printed copies will be freely available on the day.

. There will be sign posts on all approaches to campus directing you to the closest car park.

We've put together a page of advice on how best to travel to the festival here.

Accessibility

Yes - we want to make our event as accessible as possible and have taken steps to arrange events in spaces that can be easily accessed by everyone.

Registered Disabled Blue Badge holders have the same rights on the University campus as they have on the public highway. Parking on campus is free for blue badge holders and there are disabled spaces near all buildings on campus.

The nature of this event means some walking from the car parks/ bus stops and between venues will be required. There are various benches around campus to rest on route.

Yes! All our session leaders are happy for you to come with a child with special needs, and if you need to leave before the end then please feel free to do so. If your child struggles with busy environments then we would suggest coming towards the start or end of the day when the event will be quieter. There will be a quiet room available on the first floor of Oculus where your child can take a break during the day (this room is unmanned and children must be supervised).

Attending with small children/ babies

Yes. Warwick Arts Centre has a dedicated baby changing facility located in the disabled toilet. Unfortunately other buildings on campus are not equipped with dedicated facilities.

You are welcome to feed your child anywhere on campus. If you require a quiet space to breastfeed there is a room available on the first floor of the Oculus. Our cafes are able to provide hot water for making formula.

We aim to provide a space for you to leave your buggies near each event. Ask a member of staff on arrival for more information. Please note we cannot be responsible for any items left unattended on campus.

Sadly not. Parents and carers are required to supervise children at all times.

Yes. We have a broad programme of events and activities suitable for a range of ages. Suggested age ranges for activities are noted throughout the programme, or ask for advice at the Welcome Desk on arrival

General Questions

You do not need to book to attend Family Day overall. Nearly all the activities at Family Day are free! Please note, some events do have limited capacity and numbers will be monitored on the door. This is to ensure a safe and quality experience for all attendees for so please be patient if you are asked to wait or come back a bit later.

Departments from across the University of Warwick are involved with organising the Family Day, including the Engagement Group, Warwick Arts Centre, WMG, Warwick Sport and Warwick Retail,

We will have a photographer on site during the day taking pictures for publicity purposes. We will ask you to complete a permission form and will be able to give you access to the images if you would like them. If you do not want you or members of your family to be photographed, please tell our photographer or a member of the Family Day staff who will be accompanying him.

We have plenty of indoor space across the site and a programme of wet weather activity should it rain. Some activity planned outdoors may not be able to move inside and as such we may have to cancel some events in the event of poor weather.

The next Family Day date will be announced soon! Watch this space!
