IFAD was established as an international financial institution in 1977 as one of the major outcomes of the 1974 World Food Conference. Its purpose is to finance agricultural development projects primarily for food production in the developing countries.
Warwick in London and IFAD are cooperating in areas relating to inclusive and sustainable development and challenges across the globe. This collaboration is of mutual benefit and will include research and dissemination projects, impact assessments, exchange programmes and internship opportunities, an annual conference and training and skills development.
