Why this course?

This course provides a unique opportunity for executives to benefit from the expertise of both NIESR and the University of Warwick in order to facilitate better forecasting.

NIESR has been the leading macroeconomic, social research and forecasting institute in the UK since 1938. Their mission is to understand the economic and social forces that affect people's lives and seek ways in which policy can bring about change. They are a thriving research hub, collaborating with the University of Warwick and other leading universities and research centres to understand and analyse issues relevant to society.

They are also home of the Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence and the Rebuilding Macroeconomics Network, which deliver ideas and innovation to the analysis of data and its bearing on policy making and also home to NiGEM.

NiGEM is a transparent, peer reviewed, global econometric model based on real economic data with over 60 countries and regions modelled. It is used by many European Central Banks and international organisations such as the OECD. They provide customised, flexible forecasting, economic scenarios, support and training.

NIESR is independent of all political parties and large private donors and their experts and their research are regularly called upon in the public debate.
