Theatre and Performance Studies Information Evening

Theatre can change things, and it can show things for what they are.

Performance is doing. Wherever we are, we suit our performance to the environment we are in. Our course is for Thinkers, Makers, Changers. We explore how drama, theatre and performance have been defined and practised – at different historical moments, in various places, through diverse conventions – and how it makes a difference now.

Studying Theatre and Performance at Warwick will allow you to develop your creativity and skill, your ability to make critical and interpretative judgements about the work you encounter and the world around you, and your confidence in working on projects, in teams and independently.

You will have the opportunity to focus on performance in the expanded sense – where it has spilled out of theatres and is found in cities, on streets, in rituals and daily life, and across social media. You will take your own positions and make your own work.
