Pre University Taster Bursaries

At Warwick we are committed to working with young people and helping them to overcome their perceived obstacles to accessing higher education (HE).

We offer a small number of bursaries per taster session to students from a widening participation background who wish to study on the Pre University Tasters.

Bursaries will include full tuition and catering.

To be eligible for a bursary, you must currently be studying in year 12 or 13 and meet at least one of the criteria below and be between 16-18 years old when the taster starts (see here for dates):

  • Have been in receipt of (or have within the last 6 years been eligible for) free school meals.
  • Be in receipt of or entitled to discretionary means tested payments or 16-19 bursary or be eligible for pupil premium.
  • Come from a home where you will be the first in your immediate family to go to university (excluding siblings).
  • Have a registered disability.
  • Live in, or have experience of, local authority care.
  • Live in an area in there is a traditionally low participation in higher education (defined by home postcode).

Applying for a bursary
Students who wish to apply for a bursary should complete the bursary section of the application form including a statement explaining why you would like to attend a Pre University Taster and how it will benefit you.

Applications will be judged and bursaries allocated by a panel made up of University of Warwick staff and our decisions will be final.
