Guest Lecture Programme
There will be a prestigious guest lecture programme for all summer school students to enjoy. Previous speakers have included Nobel Prize Winner, Professor George Akerlof among others. This is included in the tuition fee and speakers will be announced over the coming months.

Meet and Greet
This includes a welcome reception and orientation tours
A formal three course sit down dinner and welcome reception at a location off campus.
Curry, Quiz and Karaoke
A great social night featuring a fun quiz, a tasty curry and the chance to showcase your singing talents!
Trip to Warwick University Campus
A chance for everyone to visit the lovely Warwick campus, enjoy a tour and guest lecture along with some free time to explore campus.
Cinema Film Night
Held at St Mary's new venue 'The Exchange.' Take a break after your study and watch a film with friends.
A final celebration with a Afternoon tea, nibbles and drinks and a certficate presentation event with your new WSS friends.
Drinks with the staff
A chance to get together with your new WSS friends and chat to summer school staff informally.
St Mary's has excellent sports facilities.You will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports activities in between your studying.
A Truly Global Community
In 2018, we attracted students from over 40 countries. We have welcomed 10 groups from China since 2015, 1 group from Malaysia in 2018, 2 groups in 2015/2016 from the UK, A group of 15 students from Italy in 2018 and 5 groups of 20+ students from Hong Kong.

Evening trip to London’s famous West End Theatre to see a show
Enjoy a trip to London's famous West End to see a fantastic show in the evening.
Travel to and from campus will be arranged for students who wish to visit the theatre.
A day trip to the dreaming spires of Oxford
Visit the dreaming spires of Oxford for the day and take a historic walking tour that provides a great introduction to the city. Anyone looking to do some luxury designer shopping can head to Bicester Village too.
Organised trip to London including the London Eye and River Cruise
Explore the capital city of London and enjoy a trip on the London Eye and a river cruise along the Thames. You will also have free time to explore and find your favourite sights.
A day trip to the seaside town of Brighton including a ticket for the Royal Pavilion
Our day trip to the vibrant seaside town of Brighton will give you the opportunity to take in the amazing seafront, culture, shopping and food for which Brighton is known. The visit will include a trip to the famously exotic Royal Pavilion.
A day trip to the Making of Harry Potter Studios
Discover the film making magic of Harry Potter at the Warner Bros. Studio in London.
Accommodation and Catering
We have a number of accommodation options for Summer School students all on the beautiful self-contained campus of St Mary’s so that everything is within walking distance.
These range from shared flats to private en-suite rooms. All accommodation options can be self-catered, bed and breakfast or fully catered.
Fully catered includes breakfast, lunch and dinner on most days (except included social evenings).
Payment for accommodation can be made online or by invoice on request. We are happy to reserve blocks for groups of students to live together!

How to Apply
Students can apply online individually noting their group name on their application and once the group has applied, we will arrange for payment which includes the corresponding discount. Alternatively we are happy for institutions to coordinate their own group and send us a list of names.
- A good understanding of the English language – no IELTS required but we assess students English language ability through their correspondence and application.
- Must be 18 years or above at the start of the Summer School
- If students wish to take a course with pre-requisites, they must attach their most recent transcript showing prior, relevant study at University when they apply
Group Booking Scholarships and Discounts
- 20% discount on tuition fees for groups of 5+ students (saving £440.00 per person)
- Tuition fee waiver for 1 teacher per group of 5 students (teachers are still responsible for accommodation costs). Teachers are welcome to study one of our courses but are not obliged to if they wish to accompany students.
- Scholarships: for every ten students, there will be one tuition fee scholarship place available (2 places for 20 students, 3 for 30 etc). The scholarship will cover the tuition fee at group value (£1760.00). We would be happy for you to work out a system to allocate the scholarships on a competitive basis or to be shared amongst all the students.
