Formed by the University of Warwick, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the University of Gothenburg, L’Université Paris Seine, the University Pompeu Fabra - Barcelona and the University of Ljubljana, the EUTOPIA alliance is committed to delivering open, innovative and inclusive higher education in Europe.

The six partners are committed to modernise education and training, and provide 21st century skills and competencies in all of Europe’s regions. We are already working together to develop international opportunities for our staff and students.


Co-tutelle PhD Scholarships

In partnership with Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and L’Université Paris Seine (UPS), a number of PhD scholarships are available to enable promising researchers to be jointly supervised in order to complete their PhD. PhD candidates will have one supervisor at Warwick and another at VUB or UPS and spend at least 12 months in each institution. Successful candidates will enter into an agreement governing the joint supervision of their PhD with Warwick and VUB or UPS.

The scholarships will cover payment of tuition fees, provide a stipend and support reasonable travel and research expenses. Priority subject areas are outlined in the Call Guidelines documents below, if you have any questions please contact WarwickinEurope@warwick.ac.uk

Paris Seine EUTOPIA International Fellowships

The Paris Seine EUTOPIA International Fellowships program aims to foster scientific cooperation within the EUTOPIA alliance.

The scheme is open to researchers from Warwick who wish to undertake a short research stay (up to 21 days) at L’Université Paris Seine, and covers stipend and living expenses for a fixed amount of € 150 per day (including travel fees and housing).

Visitors will be hosted jointly in one of the research centres of L’Université Paris Seine and at the Paris Seine Institute for Advanced Studies.

Fellows can travel to Paris on single visit or for two or three visits up to a total of 21 days. Applications are open for a fellowship to be held at any time in the current year.

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships

The Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) are actively recruiting experienced researchers (defined as those with a PhD degree, or at least 4 years of full-time equivalent research experience) for the prestigious Marie Sklodowska-Curie ActionIndividual Fellowship (MSCA-IF) and have created a repository of topics to inspire potential applicants who may be interested in applying to hold a fellowship at VUB.The topics of the repository are to be seen as grounds for discussion and further evolution into a project idea together with the respective VUB supervisor.

The applicant will have to write a proposal to further expound his or her idea regarding e.g. innovation, training and stakeholders.
