£3 Million Strategic Collaborative Programme between Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) and the University of Warwick in Applied Health Research and Delivery

Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) and the University of Warwick have established a new £3 Million collaboration that will create a joint team of 12 researchers from a range of disciplines to study the science, policy and economics of applied health research and delivery. Our vision is that this research will translate into cost-effective, affordable and scalable interventions for the world’s poorest populations.

The collaboration will involve the recruitment of established and potential world leaders in the areas of biomedical science, health sciences and related disciplines that are of relevance to the mission of both institutions in global health research.

LSTM is a leading innovator in global health with a £268 million research portfolio. This initiative will build on LSTM’s considerable reputation and provide the springboard for larger scale interdisciplinary operational and translational research programmes that draw on the strengths of the University of Warwick. Warwick is one of the UK’s leading research universities with established expertise in cross-disciplinary areas such as epidemiology, biological sciences; systems modelling, digital healthcare, health economics and translational research.

Support for the new posts has been provided by the Wellcome Trust.
