Introduction from the Vice Chancellor
Warwick has made outstanding progress in a very short time. We have secured a unique place and international reputation through our ability to combine excellence, creativity & intellectual rigour with agility, professionalism & sustainability.
The opportunities and challenges of the next decade will be very different to those we have faced before but our commitment to securing the position of Warwick as a leading global institution is as strong as ever.
As we approach and pass through our fiftieth birthday we must continue with the same boldness and distinctiveness which has underpinned the University since its foundations but defined in a way which is relevant for the future.
This draft strategy builds upon previous strategies but recognises the significant challenges that the sector is facing. It outlines the steps that Warwick will take and the choices we will examine to ensure that the ambitions and aspirations of our students, our staff, our alumni and our supporters for our University, drive and guide our actions in the years ahead.
This draft strategy has been developed following extensive discussions with members of our community drawn from the Senate, Council, Students’ Union, senior managers, heads of department and other groups. We now invite all members of the University and our supporters to comment and provide feedback. This feedback will be considered carefully and taken into account before the strategy is presented formally to the Senate and the Council in the summer.
The consultation will run for a month from the last week in April and ways to engage are provided online.
