Join our lively panel of Shakespeare ‘players’ who will discuss if our local literary icon and his 400 year old stories can still inspire future generations. Sita Thomas
Sita Thomas is a PhD scholar at the University of Warwick examining issues of diversity on the Shakespearean stage as part of the AHRC funded project ‘British Black and Asian Shakespeare’. She is also a filmmaker, theatre maker and movement director working for companies including the Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre, National Youth Theatre and New Wimbledon Theatre.

Highlights include Assistant Director of Peter Pan Goes Wrong (nine month UK no.1 regional tour), Assistant Choreographer of BBC3’s Bollywood Carmen and the London 2012 Olympic Welcome Ceremonies. As a filmmaker Sita has produced and directed fourteen short films for the National Theatre covering topics including Shakespeare and movement direction. She graduated with a first class degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies from Warwick in 2011.
