Last year was the 4th year of the Warwick Graduate Internship Programme, and it continued to provide one of the only accessible, competitively-funded internship programmes in UK Higher Education, asking Small & Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) to bear approximately a third of the cost of a graduate internship.
The aim is to place recent Warwick graduates in 2-3 month placements 6 months after graduation in order to boost their employability, build their confidence and give them a step up on the career ladder.
IMPACT OF FUNDING
Overall WGI has been a success again for the graduates who took part as, yet again, 68% had secured further employment before the end of the placement either with the same employer or attributed directly to WGI.
We benefit from making stronger relationships with the business community, many of whom now advertise paid graduate jobs on My Advantage and target Warwick student and Graduates for their normal recruitment needs.
