As you might have heard on local radio stations recently, a major event is coming to Coventry in 2013. Following in the footsteps of the Olympics in 2012, Europe’s largest annual multi-sport festival for businesses and organisations will be staged in Coventry from the 4th-7th July and everyone is eligible to enter! The University of Warwick is pleased to be one of the event's partners and we're encouraging alumni to get involved.
Corporate Games operate all around the world but the UK Corporate Games is one of the best attended worldwide. The Games will feature 22 popular sports in a packed weekend programme and there should be something for everyone, whether you are interested in team sports like football and netball, racquet sports like tennis and badminton, fun sports like dragonboat racing or go-karting, or individual sports like running, golf, swimming and even poker! However, the Games is a real festival weekend that will feature a SuperCentre Celebration at the Ricoh Arena, a grand parade of athletes through Coventry city centre, a great games party at the University campus and heaps of fun for everyone.
Teams are already flocking to enter the Games. Household names like Ernst and Young, Vodafone, Asda and Intel will be bringing entrants from all around the country, whilst local companies like Jaguar Land Rover and Decathlon have joined these corporate giants in committing to enter over 100 competitors each. However, you don’t have to be a huge organisation to enter the Games. Hundreds of smaller companies are welcomed, with Brose, Stewart, Fletcher and Barrett, and Newsome Vaughan Solicitors already looking forward to the weekend. Even, one-person enterprises regularly join the Games wherever they are held. Regardless of the size of your company, the Games team pride themselves in treating everyone the same and the Games is “open to all for the benefit of all” regardless of age or sporting ability. We would love to see you and your company represented.
