Family Lecture: My Life in a Freezer - Tales from a Modern Day Explorer

Join us on Wednesday 12 November 2014 from 6:30 - 7:30pm in the Zeeman Building to hear some exciting tales from a modern day explorer, Mark Wood.

Immerse yourself in the adventures of explorer Mark Wood as he takes you on a journey to the extremes of the planet. You'll find out what it's like for Mark to travel alone to the North Pole, encountering a polar bear and pushing himself through extreme limits in order to survive. This inspirational insight into Mark’s passion for adventure, travel and cultural diversity is an exciting opportunity for all ages to enjoy. Mark has lots of stories to share with you, he is so passionate about his role as an explorer, you’ll almost feel like you were there with him!

Suitable for all ages (5 and above) who enjoy extreme adventure and exploring the unknown!

If you would like to join Mark then please book here. Tickets are £5 per person or £10 per family and all money raised will be donated to scholarships for less advantaged children to attend one of IGGY's Global Residential Schools in 2014/15.

Prize Draw

All attendees will recieve a free entry into a prize draw to win a signed, framed photograph from one of Mark's expeditions. The winner will be announced at the lecture.


IGGY, is the University of Warwick's international, social and educational network for the brightest 13 - 18 year olds. IGGY gives members access to interactive educational resources and allows them to work with top academics, student mentors and other bright young people from around the world to exchange ideas, debate, learn and explore in a safe environment.
