Happiness Around the World: An Introduction to the Scientific Evidence

The British High Commission and the University of Warwick are holding a Distinguished Visitor Lecture by:

Professor Andrew Oswald - "Happiness Around the World: An Introduction to the Scientific Evidence"
On Wednesday 13th November, from 6.30pm to 8.30 pm
at the British High Commissioner’s Residence, Eden Hall

The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception.

Andrew Oswald is Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick and is especially known for research that began the field now known as the economics of happiness. There is growing interest in how to measure the true happiness and well-being of a nation, with indicators such as national income (GDP) increasingly seen as out-of-date. Professor Oswald’s lecture will explain the latest scientific thinking, describe the new ideas being used by governments and researchers, list the really happy countries, and summarize what is understood about the determinants of the happiness of a country.

We are delighted to partner with the British High Commission in Singapore to bring you this special event hosted at the British High Commissioner’s Residence. All University of Warwick alumni and friends in Singapore are invited to attend, and as such we expect this event to be very popular.

Online booking for this event is now closed. An email will be sent to all those who have registered with further details about the event.
