What does a UNISON steward do?
- Talks to members about workplace problems, advises them, and keeps them informed of the latest developments.
- Represents members in their workplace.
- Recruits and organises members around workplace issues.
- Gets involved in how the local branch and national union are run.

Yes - you can speak to any of the stewards (or contact any of the Branch Officers) and they will try to help you, or make sure that you are directed to the right place to get the information you need.
Why are UNISON stewards important?
Stewards are the backbone of UNISON. Stewards act as the link between members and the union, and are in the best position to understand colleagues' needs and concerns.
