Graduate employment experts from the University of Warwick will be attending a 'meet the univerisities' event in Leamington Spa on May 16th to network with local businesses.
This free event aims to bring small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) face to face with the people who can help their company get the most out of working with universities. It gives local firms a chance to tell the Universities what they want from them and gives the universities a chance to explain to companies which approaches will work best.
Ray Smith, Development Manager at Warwick District Council, who are hosting this second annual event, said: "This is an excellent opportunity for local businesses, particularly smaller firms, who have pieces of work or projects they need to undertake, to tap into expertise or additional resource that they do not have in-house. It also gives students and graduates a chance to gain valuable 'real' work experience."
Stephen Ward, Head of External Relations for Student Careers and Skills at the University of Warwick said: " Employers value Warwick students for their entrepreneurship, their energy and fresh perspective. Although targeted by major organisations, many aspire to work for SMEs, which offer rapid prgression and more varied responsibilities. We are very glad to work with Warwick District Council to build on last year's success in linking local business with our students and graduates."
