MPhil and PhD research

We welcome applications for MPhil and PhD research across our areas of specialism. Applicants are usually expected to have a high 2-1 or 1st class undergraduate degree and a master's degree in a relevant subject area.

Below applying formally, please contact the Director of Graduate Studies, Dr Zahra Newby, to discuss your research area. We can advise you on the best supervisor and help to refine your proposal before you submit your final application.

All PhD candidates are initially admitted to the MPhil, and upgraded to full PhD status after a formal revision of progress, usually after one year of full-time study.
