With over 40 research-active members of staff and around 50 research students, our department is home to a thriving research culture across the full range of literary and cultural studies. We were ranked 1st in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (2014 REF), and the QS World Subject Rankings (2016) place us in the top 25 English departments in the world. We remain 1st for Creative Writing in the Times/Sunday Times league table (2017).
