Depending on which year you're in, you'll follow a particular assessment pattern:

Intermediate years:

• A field trip report, due in week 11 of term 2 (20%)
• 2 X 3,000-word essays (from a list of published questions), due in week 2 of term 2 (first essay) and week 2 of term 3 (second essay) (80%)

Finalists:

• A group video essay, due in week 11 of term 2 (20%)
• 2 X 4,000-word essays (either from a list of published questions or your own title), due in week 2 of term 2 (first essay) and week 2 of term 3 (second essay) (80%)

To prepare for the module over the summer, I recommend getting a start on the Schreiner, Carson and Powers texts for Term 1, and Ward, Wright and Lerner for Term 2. You may also want to check out the essay “The Uninhabitable Earth” by David Wallace-Wells.
