Karl Schoonover and Rosalind Galt's 'Queer Cinema in the World' reviewed by 'Cineaste'

Karl Schoonover's book Queer Cinema in the World (co-written with Rosalind Galt, King's College, University of London) has received a very positive review by Corey K. Creekmur in the Winter 2017 issue of Cineaste. A selection of Creekmur's comments can be found below:

"Overall, Queer Cinema in the World is a work of remarkable capaciousness and intellectual adventure, written in welcome defiance of the scholarly demand for tight focus and narrow specialization. Maximalist rather than minimalist, it offers a wide view that, among its other pleasures, will provide many readers with introductions to neglected films and filmmakers as well as with compelling treatments of works that are now part of the canon of queer cinema."

"Schoonover and Galt have written a rich, suggestive, and provocative study sure to animate future debates about queer cinema, world cinema, and what is now their inextricability."

Queer Cinema in the World has also been reviewed by the Hong Kong Review of Books and the authors were interviewed about their research for the Winter 2016 (Vol.70 No.2) issue of Film Quarterly, available here.
