Delve a little deeper

We have a worldwide reputation for the quality of our teaching and research within the fields of film and television aesthetics, history and theory. If you join us, you'll benefit from our close, tight-knit community: we offer an outstanding staff-student ratio and welcome up to 25 new postgraduates every year.

Taught courses

Between ten and twenty postgraduates take our taught courses every year. These degrees offer you regular contact with tutors and peers, and culminate with an independent research dissertation on a subject of your choice.

Research programmes

These courses suit students who thrive on independent study. You will explore a topic in-depth as part of an active research community, supervised closely by experts. We currently have 14 full-time members of staff with many research strengths who could be your supervisors. We usually welcome up to 5 PhD students every year.
