Midlands Eighteenth Century Research Network

Midlands Eighteenth Century Research Network

MECRN, the Midlands Eighteenth Century Research Network, came into being in 2017-18, growing out of the long-term relationship between the Early Modern and Eighteenth Century Centre (EMECC) at the University of Warwick and the Birmingham Eighteenth Century Centre (BECC) at the University of Birmingham. These institutions have collaborated over the years on an annual Symposium for scholars of the eighteenth century, hosted by each institution in turn. Now they have joined with other institutions across the Midlands to create this new informal network.

The aim is to provide a forum for eighteenth century scholars of all levels, where different strands of research can be shared, collaborative events, initatives and projects developed, and postgraduate students supported in a wider community.
