In Celebration of Warwick in Venice for 40 years
In the autumn of 1967 the first History students from Warwick arrived in Venice, beginning a unique and highly successful relationship between a British university and Italy. From 1976 they were joined by History of Art students. Since 1967 over 1,500 undergraduates and graduates have studied in Venice. Apart from teaching, the Warwick in Venice programme has acted as a focus of research by distinguished scholars from around the world through the annual public lecture and the annual conference on 'Themes in Renaissance History and Art History'.
