In-person exam timetable - reading/writing - May 2025

Timetable and permitted items for Language Centre Reading/Writing in-person examinations - May 2025

Please read carefully the guidance below on what students should bring to the examination venue, along with other items that they are permitted to bring. We strongly advise against students bringing bags, cases, or backpacks to in-person examinations. IMPORTANT - all personal property is left at the student's own risk, even where dedicated baggage storage facilities exist.

Required Item
Notes

1

Warwick ID card

To be placed in the top left-hand corner of the exam desk.

2

Writing implements (i.e. pens, highlighters, etc)

These should be in a clear pencil case or bag.

Permitted item
Notes

1

Clear container of still water (x1)

Bottles should have labels removed. Water flasks should be clear, see-through plastic/glass. Carbonated drinks are not permitted.

2

Analogue and non-smart watches

Analogue and non-smart digital watches must be placed at the top right-hand corner of the desk in the plastic bag provided. This does not include smart watches/smart fitness trackers, which are treated the same as phones (see below).

3

Mobile phones

All phones must be switched off and alarms cancelled. They must be stored under your chair in the plastic bag provided.

4

Personal items (i.e., wallets, purses, keys, etc.)

All phones, smart watches and electronic storage/retrieval devices will be placed in the plastic bag provided. They must be switched off and alarms cancelled. The plastic bag must be sealed and placed under the student’s chair. Items must not be removed from the plastic bag until the examination scripts have been collected.

Students must not use their phone or any other electronic device until they are outside and away from the room.

In-person examination timetable (Reading/Writing)

Students are encouraged to be at the venue at least 20 minutes before the start time of the examination - and no later than 10 minutes before the start. We will begin admitting students into the room around 10 minutes before the start time of the examination.

On arrival at the examination room, students should check the seating plan and make sure all electronic devices are switched off. Students will be asked to put their phone and smart watch into a clear plastic bag provided, so any such devices should not be placed in their own bag.
Students are expected to be seated 5 minutes before the start of the exam to allow for the invigilators to read announcements.
When considering their schedule for the day, students must make an allowance after the finish time to allow for all administrative tasks to be completed.

Please note that students entitled to alternative exam arrangements will be contacted separately with information about their exam duration and the location. The date and start time will be the same as below:
