The below course structure is indicative. Modules on offer change year on year, dependent on staff research interests and availability.

From 2021/22 academic year entry, this course will be subsumed into the BA Modern Languages.

Year One

Core Modules
  Modern French Language (FR101-30)  
  Italian for Beginners (IT101-30) or Italian Language I (Intermediate (LL2B4-30)/Advanced (IT107-30)  
  The Story of Modern France (FR121-30)  
Optional Module
  Choose one of the following option modules
  Translation: Methods and Practice (LN102-30)  
  An approved external module (30 credits)  

Year Two/Three

Core Modules
  Modern French Language II (FR201-30)
  Modern Italian Language ll (IT201-30) or Modern Italian Language lll (IT301-30)
Optional Modules
 

Intermediate Year French Modules (30-60 credits)

Intermediate Year SMLC Modules (0-30 credits)

Year Two/Three - Spent Abroad

Year Four

Core Modules
  Modern French Language III (FR301-30)
  Modern Italian Language (IT301-30) or Modern Italian Language (IT401-30) or an approved option in Italian Studies (30 credits)
