Italian and Classics

The below course structure is indicative. Modules on offer change year on year, dependent on staff research interests and availablility.

Year One

Core Modules
  Modern Italian Language I (at Beginners (IT101-30), Intermediate or Advanced (IT107-30) level)
  Latin or Greek at an appropriate level (30 credits)
  Introducing Italy: Local and Global Perspective  (IT116-30)
  A first-year optional module in Classics to be chosen from Roman Culture and Society (CX110-30) (CX110-30), Greek Culture and Society (CX109-30), or Greek and Roman History.

Year Two/Three - Spent abroad

Core Module
 

Modern Italian Language II (IT201-30) or Modern Italian Language III (IT301-30)

Optional Modules
  Italian Studies modules (totalling 30 credits)*
  Intermediate Classics option modules (totalling 60 credits)
  *Exceptional case for 15 credits external module may be approved by SMLC Director of Undergraduate Studies.

Year Four

Core Module
  Modern Italian Language IV (IT401-30)
Optional Modules
  Italian Studies modules (totalling 30 credits)*
  Final Year Classics option modules (60 credits)*
  *Exceptional case for 15 credits external module may be approved by SMLC Director of Undergraduate Studies.
