The School of Modern Languages and Cultures runs a student-led mentor scheme for incoming students. Your mentor will usually be a student in the year above you doing the same or similar degree course. You will receive an email telling you the name and contact details of your student mentor shortly before you arrive at Warwick. They will be happy for you to contact them and raise questions about your studies here and about student life and work more generally. Your mentors are not members of staff, nor are they counsellors. They are here to help you settle in and get a sense of what it is like to be a student here. If they are faced with questions they find difficult to answer, they will approach the appropriate member of staff.
By mutual agreement, you may choose to meet or correspond with your mentor on a regular basis. In order to ensure that the mentor-mentee relationship works at its smoothest, we have set out some documents on the right of the page that explain the nature of the scheme. Please take a little time to read them. You should also view the online training video which consists of a 5-minute presentation by a former student.
