Subject: The start of Term 2 in the Liberal Arts Department
Dear Liberal Arts students,
Happy New Year! We hope you have all had as good a Christmas break as possible, given the circumstances.
We are getting in touch with you regarding the guidance from the University following the national lockdown announcement. You can view the University’s email (sent on Wednesday 6 January 2021) here.
As mentioned in the University’s email, teaching will be delivered remotely (online only) from the beginning of term (Monday 11 January 2021) until mid-February for all Liberal Arts modules.
If you are taking modules outside of the Liberal Arts Department you should speak to the corresponding Undergraduate Office to confirm arrangements for online learning, if you haven’t heard about the arrangements already.
As we move closer to mid-February, we will be able to let you know more information about exactly when our blended learning model (including face to face teaching) will start, providing that government guidelines may allow us to do so. We understand that you might have questions about the new national lockdown and the revised dates for the start of face to face teaching. Please keep an eye on your University emails for this information – we will aim to update you clearly and as soon as possible.
Please be reassured that we are here to support you. We encourage you to get in touch with your personal tutor if you need any academic or pastoral support. We would also like to remind you that the Liberal Arts Virtual Common Room will resume in Week 1 of Term 2. Our Interdisciplinary Programmes’ Officer, Mike Hart, will be holding reception sessions on the Virtual Common Room twice a week during term time:
- Tuesday 2-4 pm (UK time)
- Thursday 10 am - 12 pm (UK time).
Please continue to look after yourselves and we look forward to welcoming you back (virtually) for Term 2 next week. You can keep up to date with the University’s latest advice and guidance around COVID-19 on the Stay safe at Warwick web pages and you can access the support and services of the Wellbeing team here.
