Assessment

The intercalated work placement year is not credit bearing, although you are required to pass by:

  1. Working the specified number of hours (see requirements);
  2. Completing one of the following:
  • A reflective learning diary recording your experience of the placement year of at least 7,000 words.

Or

  • An audio/video/multimedia journal (in consultation with the Module Leader/Student Experience and Engagement Manager) PLUS a 3,000 word written summary related to the stated outcomes of the module.

The summary should contain contextual information on the host organisation, a description of and reflection on the process undertaken to secure the placement, its development, any reports submitted by the placement provider, the skills developed and how they relate to personal, academic and career development. [In addition there may be a formal presentation or structured interview with questions allowing the exploration of the skills, knowledge and attributes gained during the placement related to the stated outcomes of the module].

A Moodle space will be set up for this purpose.
