In Term 1 a module will be offered in New Directions in Theatre and Performance Research and in Term 2 inResearch in Theatre and Performance-Making Practices, with the possibility to take an approved module from outside the department for one or other of these modules. These may include , IATL modules The Medical Mind in Literature and Culture, or Ways of Knowing: Gender, Bodies, Power; or appropriate modules from the Education department’s MA.
The aim of this module will be to familiarise students with research developments in specialist areas within the field of theatre and performance studies. The topics to be covered this session are drawn from such areas as
intercultural performance, gendered citizenship and new media.
This module aims familiarise students with research and global practices in contemporary theatre and performance making in relation to the facilitation of social change and engagement with creative practice A particular emphasis will be placed on the social efficacy of theatre and such interventions as creative writing, street performance, as well as on other forms of contemporary performance.
