Research has shown that poor use of Powerpoint can be a significant ‘pain point’ for students in lectures. This workshop will consider the point and the purpose of PowerPoint, and explore some key principles for using PowerPoint well, taking account of published research, student feedback and cognitive load theory. We will also touch on accessibility and look at how tools such as Vevox can be incorporated into your presentation design.
